This sculpture is part of my skull series, inspired by sun-bleached animal bones and skulls. It captures the rawness, resilience, and fragility of life, as well as the unforgiving nature of the desert landscape.
This piece holds more than meets the eye, exploring self-reflection, identity, and the logic of childhood reasoning. It challenges the viewer to consider how we see ourselves versus how others see us, blurring the line between humor and introspection. What is real? What is assumed? The answers shift depending on where you stand.
Now and then, there are those beautiful moments… Of silence… Of peaceful reflection. One of these moments was captured at Smith rock State Park in Central Oregon.
