As a Central Oregon artist specializing in steel and stone sculpture, my work often reflects familiar landscapes, the human form, and symbolic objects that spark my curiosity. I view my work as an act of elevation—taking the mundane, the rough, and the simple, and transforming them into something unique, extraordinary, and precious.

The Tropical Plant Shield Series, showing here at Flourish, is inspired by the vibrant plant collections nurtured by my wife and daughter. What surrounds me so often becomes a muse for my work, and the hundreds of plants in our home have opened a new world of intricate forms and patterns for me to explore. In these shields, I translate the curiosity and joy I feel in observing the complexity of tropical leaves into sculptural design and form.
